The Journey
For the true explorers.
Self-Supported Rides > The Journey
For those looking for a little more.
The Journey is Tour Da Yoop, Eh and then some. It’s for those that might take months to explore all the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Cut each section into as many days as you’d like. This is your journey.
THE BASICS
Journey riders get a little more
than Tour Da Yoop, Eh riders. TDY is about Chasing Plaid and cycling 1,200 miles across 10 days. The Journey guides you all the way to the furthest reaches of the U.P., including the tip of Marinette and the end of US-41.
We’ll give you the Orange Camo Jersey and the routes. We’ll also give you all the hotel information, but we suspect that Journey riders are more likely to pack a tent. They tend to ride 60-70 miles, and then stay in an area for a few days, really getting to experience the beauty and the people.
Nothing is impossible.
Our first Journey riders Ken and Dani made a blog of their experience. Check it out at brakefreerunfree.com.
We crossed paths with them overnight in Grand Marais during our annual event in 2021. Maybe we’ll see you, too!
It doesn’t matter how long it takes.
The Journey is for riders that want to break the 10 sections into multiple days of riding. You might log 1,500 or more miles by the time you are done. We have a specially-colored Plaid Jersey for those who complete their journey: the Green Plaid.
Getting started is simple. Purchase the awesome Orange Camo Jersey ($150), and we’ll email you the routes. What you do from there is up to you. It’s your journey.
There is an additional $150 fee if you plan on riding all ten sections and getting the Plaid Jersey. Contact us to get access to the ordering page.
